Calzones

Hot calzones, made easy!

Buy 1 tube of pillsbury pizza dough. Open the tube and spread the dough out to make it thin.

On one half, spread either pizza sauce or a marinara sauce (either is truly fine, it just depends on your taste...I'm not a huge pizza fan so I like marinara better). Add pepperoni or any other "toppings." Spread shredded mozzarella cheese to your heart's content. It's best to buy the Kraft Creamy Melt Mozzarella. If you need to buy another brand just make sure it's NOT reduced fat. Reduced fat doesn't melt well.

Fold the second half over and place it over the other half like a blanket. Squish all the edges together with your fingers, or a fork, to make it like a stuffed pillow. Wipe a little butter on top to help it brown. Optional: sprinkle Italian or pizza seasoning to the top. Place it onto a cookie sheet. If you have parchment paper it's great to line the cookie sheet first. But if not, just place it straight on the cookie sheet (it just might stick a little when done, but not terribly).

Bake according to the temp and time on the pizza dough tube! It's done when it's a dark golden brown. Someday if you have a pizza stone, bake it on the stone and it'll be ever crispier on the bottom. Serve with a side of ranch for dipping. This will stay good in the fridge for about 2-3 days before it gets too dried out. Save leftovers in foil, not tupperware.

Additional options: you can make these into hot sandwiches if you choose turkey or ham instead of pepperoni. When you do this option, adding a few pepperoncinis will give it a nice flavor too.
